Bronze warrior figurine from the sanctuary of Apollo Korythos, at Longa, Messenia. 540-520 B.C.

The figure wears a helmet, a cuirass and short tunic, a wristband and an armband on his right arm, thigh coverings and greaves. Judging from the rest of finds on the site and from the epithet of the god, which is etymologically related to the Homeric word korys (=helmet), Apollo was probably worshiped at Longa in his martial capacity.
