Canopic jar of Iahmes, priest of the god Horus.
Alabaster.

Canopic jars were four and contained the viscera removed from the cavities of the deceasedís body during mummification. The jars were protected by the four sons of Horus which were respectively protected by goddesses. Each deity supervised one organ and, finally, each jar corresponded to one of the points of the compass.
