Marble statuette of kore (maiden) from Eleusis.

Statuette of kore, made of Parian marble. It was found, in 1883, at Eleusis, Attica. She wears a chiton with fine, dense drapery, which can just be seen at the base of the neck and on the left thigh, above it is a large, heavy himation covering the back and shoulders and hanging in rich pleats at the front. With her left hand she draws up the chiton, and in her right she probably held a flower or a fruit. Her long wavy hair shapes of three descending on the left and right of her breasts.
