Marble votive relief, found in Athens
Copy made in the 2nd c. AD of an earlier, Hellenistic work

Marble votive relief. It was found in Monastiraki Square, Athens. Herakles is depicted reclining on a rock, on which he has spread his lionís pelt. Above his head can be seen leaves of a plane tree, in the shade of which the hero is resting.
