Marble funerary statue of a youth, found in the area of Gytheion, Lakonia.

Marble funerary statue of a youth. It was found in the area of the ancient city of Las, near Gytheion, Lakonia. The youth is depicted in the form and with the symbols of Dionysos. He wears an ivy wreath, and holds a kantharos. He leans against a tree-trunk, holding the vine that is wound around it. Next to it is a panther, the animal sacred to Dionysos.
