MORNING CONCERTS at the MUSEUM
(May – June 2014)
The National Archaeological Museum inaugurates this year for its visitors a circle of morning concerts of small musical ensembles, hosted in the Hall of the Altar, performing music of various styles, ranging from Greek antiquity to contemporary creations, to be held every Wednesday of May and on Wednesday 4 of June 2014.

Wednesday 7 May 2014
«Lieder, Melodies, Songs: Pursuits»
Songs of Brahms, Schubert, Schumann, Mahler, Strauss, Samaras, Karrer, Kalomoiris, Ravel, Ñiadis, Enescu, Kounadis, Dragatakis, Labelet interpreted by  soprano Mina Polychronou, mezzo-soprano Ines Zikou and the pianist Sophia Kontosi.

«Ìusic is to be played everywhere»
Concert – piano performance of the soloist Maria Aloupi in works of Satie, Ravel, Messiaen, Debussy, Part, Philippakopoulos, Diktyopoulos, with the participation of the pianist Akis Botsaropoulos.

«Europe sings bel canto»
Concert of the Orchestra of String Instruments Nights ‘ATTIKA’, directed by the conductor Aris Dimitriadis, with the participation of the tenor Giannis Christopoulos, in a program including Greek songs of the National School as well as Italian ones by composers such as Munier, Maciocchi, Galanti, Falvo, Rodio and Kioulaphidis.

Musical performance of the conductor Dimitris Bouzanis and soprano Tonia Avdelopoulou in works of Chatzidakis, Giannidis, Kougioumtzis, Rota, Monteverdi.

«Sounds and myths from the history and adventure of the Classical spirit»
GUITARTE ENSEMBLE (N. Chatzieleftheriou, Ch. Phaklaris, F. Karagiannopoulos, M. Papamichail, A. Sartzidou – singing). The actress Ioanna Aggelidi takes part in the performance.
Six out of the preserved works of ancient Greek musical notation (semiography) and music as well as compositions and songs of contemporary Greek composers accompanying ancient Greek drama performances.

Concerts are scheduled for 12:00 noon and will be one hour in duration.
